i-square, ii-1064
ir thermometer

A world first!

The most advanced infrared thermometer / temperature gauge - brought to you by HORIBA.

Simultaneously record both temperature and images at 64 points while viewing the object being measured. Suitable for all applications that require more than a single spot measurement without the expense of thermal imaging equipment.

The isquare is a 2-dimensional infrared thermometer equipped with a newly developed 64-element thermopile array sensor. The isquare is not just another non-contact temperature measuring device. The isquare allows the user to view and verify the measurement subject on the LCD screen whilst simultaneously measuring the temperature at 64 points.

The Newly Developed 64-Element Thermopile Array

A thermopile is the heart of most of todays leading infrared thermometers. The Thermopile Array consists of a matrix of multiple thermopile elements, but attempts to put this technology into practical applications have been hindered by size and sensitivity problems, until now! HORIBA has managed to overcome these problems using semiconductor processing based micro-machining, successfully developing a micro-sized, high-sensitivity thermopile. The resulting 64-element Thermopile Array consists of an 8 x 8 matrix of 0.5mm2 elements, the first such matrix in the world to be put into a practical application.
