Environmental Policy

As the UK office of a multi-national environmental organization whose role is to develop and introduce measuring and analytical systems that improve and protect the global environment, HORIBA Instruments Limited has adopted the following long term environmental goals:

  • To undertake activities that are instrumental in improving the environment, strive to control pollution, and conserve energy and natural resources, and

  • To protect and improve the environment by respecting all existing environmental regulations/requirements and to meet all new regulations as soon as is reasonably practicable.

Due to the nature of the activities undertaken at Northampton, HORIBA Instruments Limited has very little impact on its environment, but its products have a large positive impact globally.

The environmental policies, which include a commitment to continual improvement and pollution prevention, shall be reviewed periodically referring to the achievements and the changing prevailing conditions, and be appropriate to the nature and scale of the company's activities, products and services.

To accomplish the environmental goals, the following environmental objectives and targets have been established:-

  • Increase recycling including use of recycled material thereby reducing waste.

  • Minimize packaging and packaging waste

  • Reduce usage of all materials, including paper, increase recycling and encourage use of non-paper communication such as e-mail and telephone.

The Environmental Manager has the responsibility to maintain and review the procedures required to meet these objectives.

The Environmental Policy, its associated procedures and documents are issued under the authority of the Managing Director and implementation is mandatory on all employees.
